Gerard Boden
Chief of Staff

Jerry assumed his current role as Chief of Staff for the Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs on September 1, 2009. Prior to this position, Jerry served as Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff in the Office of the Lieutenant Governor.

Jerry was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army (Ordnance Corps) after graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1985. He served in Germany and at Aberdeen Proving Ground, and completed his service as a Captain in 1990. Jerry went on to receive his MBA from Georgetown University in 1992.

Prior to serving in Maryland State Government, Jerry worked for 14 years managing business operations in the private sector. His previous work experience is as follows: Manufacturing Manager, Howmet Corporation, Dover, New Jersey, 1992-96. Production Manager, Component Remanufacturing Specialists, Inc., Mahwah, New Jersey, 1996-98. Operations Manager, Coining Technologies, Inc., Clifton, New Jersey, 1998-99. Director of Operations, Ciena Corporation, Linthicum, Maryland, 2000-03. Director of Operations, Greater Maryland Dental Partners, Clarksville, Maryland, 2004-06.

Jerry resides in Columbia, Maryland and is a member of St. Louis Parish in Clarksville.
